News Release—Oak Point, Texas - The Prestonwood Interscholastic team completed a great season finishing 3rd place overall in the Central Region and was the youngest team to advance that far in the National USPA Interscholastic Open tournament.  The Interscholastic season started in January when Prestonwood Polo Club played host to the Midland Interscholastic team on January 14 and 15 to play two USPA Interscholastic qualifying games for seeding in the 2012 National USPA Interscholastic Open tournament. The Midland team came to the Dallas area to play in the new Prestonwood Arena in Oak Point, the weather was a perfect 65 degrees and sunny and the kids for both teams were extremely gracious and thankful to play. The Prestonwood arena is regulation size and has new grandstands and announcer’s tower. In the first game the Prestonwood defeated Midland 10-8 with some great action by both teams. Andrew Garcia for the Prestonwood team came out strong scoring 3 goals in the first chukker, 2 goals in the second chukker and 3 goals in the fourth. Vaughn Sebastian Miller scored 1 goal in the third chukker and played outstanding defensive game. Loretto Natividad lead for Midland scoring 1 goal in the first chukker, 2 goals in the second chukker and 2 in the third chukker. Nick Watson for Midland scored 1 goal in the second chukker and 2 goals in the third chukker. In the second game it was all Midland as they fired back with a vengeance beating Prestonwood 13-3, Nick Watson for Midland came on strong scoring 7 goals, followed by 5 goals for Loretto Natividad and 1 goal for McKenzie Watson. Andrew Garcia scored 2 goals for Prestonwood and Madeleine Walton scored 1 goal. Teams were:

The Prestonwood Interscholastic team then headed to Houston, Texas February 3 to compete in the Preliminary round of the National USPA Interscholastic Open and defeated Brookshire and Pecan Acres to advance to Regionals and won Best Polo Pony Playing String:

The Prestonwood Interscholastic team then headed to Houston, Texas February 17 to compete in the Central Region Finals of the National USPA Interscholastic Open and lost to Midland but defeated Houston to earn 3rd Place in the Central Region and the youngest team to in the country advance so far. Midland will advance to the Final Four of the National Interscholastic Open in Virginia. Prestonwood looks forward to competing again next year!
